Radical transparency
Every spec on Golf Cart Comparisons carries a source and a confidence rating. Every change is logged. Every dispute we've resolved — accepted or rejected — is published below. No competitor publishes their own mistakes; we do.
Accuracy scoreboard
These are small numbers on a young site — we publish them anyway. Growth here is the point.
Freshness report
Our source agents re-check every tracked price daily (06:00 UTC), run discovery/pricing/content agents daily (05:00 UTC), sweep every outbound link weekly on Mondays (07:00 UTC), and run self-audit loops weekly on Tuesdays (08:00 UTC). This is the actual distribution of when published data was last verified — not a promise, a measurement.
Published thresholds
Every cut-off the engine applies when it bands a score, announces a rank change, offers an alternative, or reports a change to a tracked comparison. Each number is read from the code that applies it, so this list cannot disagree with the scoring.
Score bands
- Strong
- 70
- A score of 70 or more.
- Fair
- 40
- A score of 40 or more, and under 70.
- Weak
- under 40
- A score under 40.
- Band hold margin
- 2 points
- When rankings are recalculated, an item keeps the band it held until its score falls 2 points below that band's minimum: strong holds down to 68, fair down to 38. Entering a band always takes the full minimum.
Rankings and decisions
- Rank change worth announcing
- 1 point
- Ranks are always published exactly. A move of a single place is left out of the changelog and rank alerts when the item's own score moved less than 1 point and its band did not change.
- Close call
- 5 points
- Two items within 5 points of each other are a close call. An alternative is only offered in place of the top pick when it is a close call or still scores at least 40.
- Minimum data coverage
- 50%
- Where missing metrics are excluded, an item needs published values for at least 50% of the score's weight to be scored at full strength. Below that its score is scaled down in proportion. A workspace may set its own minimum.
Tracked comparisons
- Score change worth reporting
- 3 points
- A tracked comparison reports an item whose score moved 3 points or more since the last check. Smaller moves are treated as rescoring noise.
- Challenger closing in
- 5 points
- A tracked comparison reports a challenger that moves to within 5 points of the item that led last time, or passes it.
- Tracked comparison check
- 28 days
- A tracked comparison is checked every 28 days unless it sets its own interval.
Repository health
- Quiet repository
- 180 days
- A repository with no push for more than 180 days is quiet.
- Stale repository
- 365 days
- A repository with no push for more than 365 days is stale.
Dispute ledger
Every correction we've resolved, newest first — whether we accepted it and fixed the data, or reviewed it and left the value as-is.
No disputes have been resolved yet. 41 are currently open for review.
How to dispute a number
Think we have something wrong? Any signed-in user can file a correction from an item page or from your corrections dashboard. It lands in the same review queue our own agents' work goes through, and the resolution — accepted or rejected — gets published in the dispute ledger above.
